the NO GOOD HORSES, an alt-country band with roots in the Mississippi River Valley, across the Glacial Till, and down through the Red Bed Plains.

Influenced by the Turnpike Troubadours, Drive-By Truckers, and Uncle Tupelo, the horses have a passion to protect the rich tradition of storytelling.  Their first album, NO GOOD HORSES, is a handmade work of art.

NO GOOD HORSES was recorded at Elijah’s living room in Urbana, Illinois, Ocean Way Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee, and Re: Records in Ashland City, Tennessee. At Ocean Way Nashville, Chris Tomlinson (Organ, Piano) was kind enough to add his great talents. The artwork for NO GOOD HORSES is oil on canvas by Matt Diana.

Members Elijah Settles (Vocals), Zachary Mears (Electric Guitar), and Samuel Jenkins (Drums) wrote, produced, and recorded their self-titled album accompanied by great friends Clayton Burke (Pedal Steel) and Bradford Walsh (Bass Guitar). When the stars align, you’ll find them at your local dive bar, VFW, or county fair.
